Welcome to PEG 2.0… version 2.0
You may have noticed I’ve just redesigned this blog, but the intent isn’t just cosmetic. I’m switching my tumblog’s focus from politics and foreign policy, an ongoing obsession of mine, to my other obsession: business, and especially innovative business. It’s become a cliché to point out that innovative businesses have transformed the world we live in and will go on transforming it.
I’m especially interested in the world (and the logic) of startups and venture capital, transformative businesses, financial markets, but also socially responsible businesses and the tremendous business opportunities offered by the developing world. I realize this is a catalogue of trendy areas. Your danger of coming across original thoughts here is low. But hopefully you will find some mild entertainment and maybe, just maybe, a handful of “ah-ha!” moments.
In the spirit of a tumblelog, most of the stuff that’s going to come here is going to be links to other blogs or websites, or quotes, or videos, or pictures (I like pretty pictures), maybe with a brief comment or two. But every once in a while I might write a longer post if I have an idea I want to dwell on. Like on Tumblr, I’m going to put up a Radar where you can easily access these meatier thoughtpieces from the frontpage.
Another true cliché: what matters here is not what I’m saying, but what you have to say about it. I heartily encourage you to get in touch with me if you have any thoughts about one of my pieces, the easiest way is via Facebook or Twitter [Update: or FriendFeed — Merci Jérôme!]. (No comments yet, I may set up some system later if I decide it’s worth it.) I sincerely hope to build dialogues, and hopefully even some kind of community, with good smart people, around my musings in this space. In fact that’s how I’ll measure the success of PEG 2.0.
I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks,
PEG
